Day 58: The City of bikes!

Hello again audience, today's picture is of just a small amount of the MASSIVE number of bikes in Umea. Umea is almost a city of bikes, it is just so amazing and this is how every city should look! Its healthy, good for the environment and saves a lot of money. If only everyone took this sort of view at small journey which could be done just as easily on a bike! I have to have a small moan about useless and abusive comments, I have had to take away free instant comments and all comments will have to be approved by me.. something I did not want to have to do but seeing as some one loser from Essex, Loughton has no life and chooses to vent some of their frustration on random people. Anyway I am having a lovely time in Sweden and have been playing about with a very nice camera which is owned by Fanny`s Father which is why the quality will have improved :P. Now for today's question! Do you have a bike? How much do you use it? And when did you learn to ride a bike? Thank you for reading today's blog and I hope you enjoyed the picture today and are having a nice weekend, see you again tomorrow!

Now some random facts!

A bicycle, also known as a bike, pushbike or cycle, is a pedal-driven, human-powered,single-track vehicle, having two wheels attached to a frame, one behind the other. A person who rides a bicycle is called a cyclist or a bicyclist.
Bicycles were introduced in the 19th century and now number about one billion worldwide, twice as many as automobiles. They are the principal means of transportation in many regions. They also provide a popular form of recreation, and have been adapted for such uses as children's toys, adult fitness, military and police applications, courier services and bicycle racing.

wow! thats a lot of bikes! i am amazed that some of them aren't even locked! around here, even sometimes when you lock them they are stolen! someone even stole tylers little bike when he was like 5. i don't really use a bike now. i love to ride bikes, i am not sure how old i was when i started but once i could it was FREEDOM for me! i went everywhere on my bike. to the store, to the parks, to the bike tracks. then when i was about 19-21 i used my bike for work co-mingled with the city bus! i wish i were able to have a place to put my bike in my apartment! they really need bike cages here! i would save a ton of money on gas and get free exercise too! lol :)
