Day 50: Blossom

Hello again audience, today has been another beautiful day in England and I hope the weather has been just the same where you are. Today's picture is of some of the most beautiful blossom and I hope you agree :)

I was in contact with my local council today about some Geocaches I want to place out and they are going to consider if it is good or not as it is near some houses which caused problems last time but hopefully it will be different this time. I even gave her a go at Geochacing and she seemed to enjoy it.

I wanted to ask what your favourite plant is and why? I don't really have a favourite plant and I am rubbish with plant names... I would like to know! I hope everyone's week went well and that the weekend coming up will be good! Thank you for reading and i will see you tomorrow!

Now some random facts!

Blossom is a term given to the flowers of stone fruit trees (genus Prunus) and of some other plants with a similar appearance that flower profusely for a period of time in spring. Blossoms are either pink or white depending on the species or variety. Nectarine blossoms, peach blossoms, most cherry blossoms, and some almond blossoms are usually pink. Plum blossoms, apple blossoms, some cherry blossoms, and most almond blossoms are white.
Blossom normally appear in spring before the fruit actually grows.
Blossoms provide pollen to pollinators such as bees, and initiate cross-pollination necessary for the trees to reproduce by producing fruit.
Blossom trees have a tendency to lose their flower petals in wind blown cascades often covering the surrounding ground in petals. This attribute tends to distinguish blossom trees from other flowering trees.

i love this picture! they remind me of fireworks. i love all flowers! i have a flower picture fetish. ha ha but my favorite has to be the ones that grow in my moms front yard! they have been there quite a while and are the weirdest i have ever seen. they are Dracunculus vulgaris (or Voodoo Lily). they are so beautiful yet for a couple days after they bloom they stink like rotting meat, VERY nasty! so don't dare plant them next to a window or door! lol they stink to attract flies and insects which are used to pollinate them! they grow in colonies! they are purple and very amazing! and i also love japanese cherry blossom trees! so pretty. i love to stand under them and shake the branches. :)
