Day 16: A whirlpool in a river of ever-flowing water..

I was going to add a picture of this artwork on its own but today I went back to Peel Park for a walk and thought that putting my beautiful girlfriend in it would look a lot better :P I also need to have some more humans in my blog :) This beautiful bit of artwork has some beautiful/inspiring words inscripted into the silver spiral, "We are but whirlpools in a river of ever-flowing water. We are not stuff that abides but patterns that perpetuate themselves." this is only a segment from a statement made by a mathematician from the 1950 Norbert Weiner. 

"Pattern is the “organized complexity” from which all life was assembled and human beings ultimately emerged. That pattern of organization is the touchstone of our personal identity. Our tissues change as we live; the food we eat and the air we breathe become flesh of our flesh and bone of our bone...We are but whirlpools in a river of ever-flowing water. We are not stuff that abides but patterns that perpetuate themselves."

I am not sure I can add anything more as that is just an amazing and logical way to see life as something physical pattern. I find that because I am dyslexic I can find patterns in everything but I have never tried to find one in life. I think that is all for today. I hope you enjoyed the picture!

Norbert Wiener (November 26, 1894, Columbia, Missouri – March 18, 1964, Stockholm, Sweden) was an American mathematician.

A famous child prodigy, Wiener later became an early studier of stochastic and noise processes, contributing work relevant to electronic engineering, electronic communication, and control systems.

Wiener is regarded as the originator of cybernetics, a formalization of the notion of feedback, with many implications for engineering, systems control, computer science, biology, philosophy, and the organization of society.
